The Super Essay class will add all the writing tools for success in advanced level classes including college-level projects and AP writing and literature classes to students’ academic tool kit. Preparing for term papers and research projects, students will become adept at using basic essay forms and expanding them into well-organized, sophisticated writings. With systems for thorough, reliable research, young writers will be confident with summarizing, evaluating, citing, and quoting sources according to APA format and style. While writing a this researched Super Essay, students will increase their vocabulary, employ focused, academic terminology, develop thesis-crafting skills, and be able to identify and utilize eight different types of evidence. After completing this 10-week course, students will feel confident and well-prepared for advanced high school and early college writing assignments!
